Ensuring your digital assets are secured with a seed phrase

In an ongoing commitment to enhance security and empower our users, we're introducing a significant upgrade to the MELDapp — personal seed phrase self-custody. In response to user feedback and the advancement of our technical infrastructure, we are phasing out the social sign-in functionality. The new method uses a 24-word seed phrase secured with a Secret Code, granting you total control over your wallet's security.

The following guide will walk you through the simple steps of migrating your wallet from social sign-in to personal seed phrase custody.

Upgrading to Personal Seed Phrase Self-Custody

Step 1: Initiating the Upgrade

Start by clicking on the "START THE UPGRADE" button. This action will initiate the process of migrating your wallet to the seed phrase model.

Step 2: Recording Your Seed Phrase

You'll be presented with a list of 24 words, your unique seed phrase. Please note that the order of these words is crucial for accessing your wallet. Write them down and keep them in a safe, secure location. After noting them down, click on "CONFIRM & NEXT" to proceed.

Remember, the seed phrase is the key to your wallet. Store it securely, and never share it with anyone.

Step 3: Confirming Your Seed Phrase

To confirm you've accurately recorded your seed phrase, you'll be prompted to enter the words in the correct order. After you've filled in the right words in the right slots, click "CONFIRM & NEXT".

Step 4: Successful Wallet Migration

Congratulations! You've successfully migrated your wallet to the new seed phrase model. Wallets on Cardano, MELD, Ethereum, and Avalanche are now accessible with this seed phrase.

Click "NEXT" to proceed and delve back into the MELDapp.
